Playr Child Safety Standards

Playr has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This page sets out the standards we hold Playr to, how we work to prevent and detect CSAE, and how to report a concern.

Playr is an adults-only platform

Playr is intended for users aged 18 and over only. Every account goes through phone verification and age verification (camera-based age estimate, with an identity document fallback where needed) before it can be found by other users, sent match requests, or join or create teams. See our Privacy Policy for how age verification works.

What's prohibited

Our Terms of Use prohibit content or conduct that:

• Involves or sexualises anyone under 18, in any way
• Impersonates someone else or misrepresents their identity, including their age
• Is otherwise illegal, threatening, or exploitative

Users convicted of a violent or sexual offence, or required to register as a sex offender in any jurisdiction, are not permitted to use Playr under our Terms of Use.

How we detect and prevent CSAE

• Age verification - required before a user can be found, matched with, or contacted by others.
• Automated photo moderation - every profile and gallery photo is screened by an automated moderation service before it becomes visible to other users.
• Automated message moderation - one-to-one and team chat messages are screened by an automated moderation service in scheduled sweeps. Anything flagged as sexual content involving a minor is always escalated for admin review.
• Human review - content flagged by automated moderation, and every user report, is reviewed by an admin - not resolved automatically.
• In-app reporting - users can report a profile, message, or piece of content directly from within the app at any time.

What happens when we identify CSAE

When we identify or receive a credible report of CSAE on Playr, we:

• Remove the content immediately
• Suspend or permanently remove the account involved
• Report it to the relevant authority - the Internet Watch Foundation (report.iwf.org.uk) and/or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's CyberTipline (report.cybertip.org) - and cooperate with law enforcement requests relating to it
• Preserve the relevant records for as long as needed to support that report or investigation

How to report a concern

You can report any profile, message, or piece of content from within the app. If you believe a child is at immediate risk, contact your local police or emergency services directly rather than waiting on an in-app report.
