Delete Your Playr Account

You can permanently delete your Playr account and the data associated with it either right here, without signing in, or from inside the app. This page explains both ways, and what happens to your data.

Delete your account (no sign-in needed)

Enter the email address on your Playr account. We'll email you a 6-digit code -- entering it here proves the request is really coming from you, the same way signing in would.

Delete from within the app

Open the Playr app and sign in
Tap your profile, then Edit Profile
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account
Type DELETE to confirm

Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone, whichever method you use.

What gets deleted

Your profile - name, date of birth, gender, bio, sports, location, and photos
Your login credentials (email and password)
Your 1:1 matches and chat history
Your team memberships, and your own team-created events/messages where you're the only member left (see below)
Blocks you placed on other users
Your age verification record
Your profile-view history (who you've viewed, and Premium "who viewed you" records for your profile)

If you own a team that still has other members, ownership is automatically handed to another member rather than deleting the team - this keeps the team and its shared history intact for the people still using it. Teams with no other members are deleted along with their chat, events, and join requests.

What we keep, and why

Records relating to blocks placed on you by other users, and any reports or moderation history involving your account, are kept for safety and legal reasons even after deletion.
If your account has (or has had) Premium, we keep a one-way cryptographic hash of your verified phone number - never the phone number itself, and not linked to anything else we hold about you. Its only purpose is to prevent deleting and re-creating an account to claim a second free trial, or avoid paying for Premium again once paying for Premium is introduced.
